The Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law on the English language in the second reading

On Tuesday, June 4, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading draft law No. 9432, which concerns the English language. People's deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko reported this in Telegram.

The bill was supported by 236 deputies. As Honcharenko noted, the document provides for the official establishment of the status of English as one of the languages of international communication in Ukraine. The categories of positions for which candidates must speak English will also be determined.

We will remind you that President Zelensky initiated this draft law, which was registered on June 28, 2023. The document provides for the expansion of the scope of the use of the English language in the military, medical, transport systems, as well as in the field of culture. The VRU Committee supported the draft law, while preserving the Ukrainian dubbing.
